Lina Rozbih is an accomplished journalist, media leader, author, and poet with more than 20 years of senior experience at Voice of America. Since joining VOA in 2003, she has held key leadership roles, including Managing Editor, Acting Service Chief, Senior Editor, and Lead Anchor for Dari-language television and radio. Her work has focused on Afghan affairs, regional geopolitics, women’s rights, human rights, and public accountability. Lina has shaped editorial strategy, led high-performing media teams, and delivered balanced, impactful coverage on complex political, security, and social issues affecting Afghanistan and the wider region. She has conducted high-level interviews with senior U.S. officials, Members of Congress, special envoys, Afghan leaders, and prominent women’s rights advocates, creating meaningful dialogue on critical global issues. Alongside her journalism career, Lina is a published author and poet of four books: The Promise of Paradise, Apple and Eve, One Day to Eternity, and Green Riverbed. Her literary work explores identity, resilience, and human rights and has been recognized by cultural and literary institutions. As a member of the Board of Directors of Banoo Foundation, Lina brings strong expertise in media leadership, strategic communication, advocacy, Afghan women’s rights, and a deep understanding of Afghan communities worldwide.
