Nelufar Hedayat is an Emmy Award-winning director, host, broadcast journalist, and documentary filmmaker with more than 17 years of experience telling powerful stories across television, film, podcasts, and digital platforms. She is currently the Head of Documentary at the London Breeze Film Festival and has worked with major international platforms including BBC, ITN, Channel 4, Netflix, PBS, Rakuten, and National Geographic. Nelufar’s work focuses on stories that require courage, accuracy, and deep human sensitivity. Over the past six years, she has expanded her work in directing and producing, leading documentary crews in complex and challenging environments. Her storytelling is known for its emotional depth, strong characters, and focus on vulnerable communities, investigative issues, and real-life human experiences. Her work has received international recognition, including an Emmy Award, a Gracie Award, and a Peabody nomination. She is also a podcast writer, host, and experienced panel moderator. Fluent in English, Persian, Dari, Hindi, and Urdu, Nelufar connects across cultures and communities with authenticity and care. As a member of the Board of Directors of Banoo Foundation, Nelufar brings strong expertise in documentary storytelling, media leadership, advocacy, and global communication to support Afghan women and girls.
