Marjan Sadat

Founder
Marjan Sadat is the founder of Banoo Foundation — a women-led organization dedicated to advancing the rights, dignity, and opportunities of Afghan women and girls through advocacy, education, psychosocial support, and economic empowerment. Banoo Foundation rests on the conviction that every Afghan woman and girl is entitled to dignity, equality, and opportunity. Emerging from early work advancing women’s employment and education, and formally established as a nonprofit in 2026, the Foundation advances rights, leadership, and equitable opportunity across communities.
With a professional background in journalism, documentary production, and human rights storytelling, Marjan has centered her work on human rights, gender equality, and the lived experiences of Afghan women and communities. Through in-depth reporting, interviews, and documentary projects, she amplifies underrepresented voices and brings vital stories to wider audiences worldwide.
